Question Onetel.net Email & Outlook Express:(

    Hi,
any of you Onetel.net ISP customers who use their email services having problems with setting up your pop3 accounts in outlook express? because i am
i have been to their site and entered all the settings and allowed accessed to outlook express in my firewall but yet my settings are still not working
basically i have a isp account ending in .net so my pop settings should be:

    pop.onetel.net
    smtp.onetel.net

is this right?because something isn't correct....
it would be very useful if the HeXuS folks out their who have Onetel.net email accounts and use either outlook express or thunderbird could post their settings (lol obviously not passwords/usernames but to basically provide a helpfull example0
Because i am currently HATING using their web based email service to view and send emails

    thankyou for any insights

EDIT: would the OneCare Have caused this?as its very unstable and keeps crashing when trying to test email settings after failure in outlook...
    Found This:http://support.onetel.co.uk/index.php?page=159
    still doesn't help

    Used to be with Onetel.

I only ever used their SMTP server, but that is indeed the server I used....

You said you have allowed access in your firewall - that is ports 25 and 110 for SMTP and POP... Is that a router firewall or a soft firewall? (zone alarm/Kerio or similar)

If you temporarily disable it, will it allow you to connect...?

You only need to disable it for 30 seconds to do a quick send and receive... If it works with the FW doisabled, you will know it is a firewall configuration issue. Yes, there is a small risk by doing so, but it will help the fault finding procedure.
