Is it a CD that you've slipstreamed? The signature means terror hat the checksum for one of the DLLs in the setup does not match the one it had when the disk was built by microsoft.
There's not alot on technet about it though

Its a CD straight out of the MS Media pack, had a poke thru the other CD's and theres a 2003 cd with sp1 on it, used that and it worked fine, dont get why they give u 10 cd's tho n 4 of them are duplicates...
That'll be a dodgy CD from microsoft then, I know what you mean about the number of CDs as well we get about 30 cds a month form MS. Absolute madness, it's almost a full time job filing and indexing them

Well I'm reinstalling it again, everything was fine, got round to putting the hardware I'd taken out back in, only a bloody scsi card n a NIC but it really screwed windows, BSOD on boot and something about a file in the security <dir> being missing corrupt or unable to be written too...
hmm strange sounds like the SCSI bios was getting in the way, windows has two main ways to bootstrap (and in theory thats all that should fail so badly you have to re-install).
SCSI and BIOS (IDE)
BIOS provides n interface to the IDE system, using the BIOS memory space.
SCSI dosen't work like that.
Often SCSI is used by PCI addon cards, and seiral ATA. Odds are its the configuration for this that screwed it, but it shouldn't BSOD it would just stall.
The one thing that always gets me with the MS media kits, is when you try to install of the media/training CD. They look so similar and i'm guilty of just quickly looking at the CD rather than reading it's label

Looks like it mite need a BIOS update, the NIC and SCSI card are now in and working, well, it was when I left it doing updates anyways, there a huuuge page of updates for the x235 and Win2k3 so we'll just have to see how things go, failing that I mite have to build a new server for work and bring the old one home
BIOS update definatly a good idea (i won't start talking about how add-in cards boot, its horible), SP1 disk might be good idea too.

Installed it off of the SP1 disk...
Gonna get it all upto date as far as the IBM site says and see if anything specific sends it balls up...
