Hey,
When I type commands like "ping" into a command line, I get a program not found error. If I am in C:\WINDOWS\system32 when I ping then it works fine. I'm sure I've screwed up an enviroment variable somewhere, anyone know how to fix it?

Something along the lines of:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem
It might have more entries depending on what you have installed.

PC: Win10 x64 | Asus Maximus VIII | Core i7-6700K | 16GB DDR3 | 2x250GB SSD | 500GB SSD | 2TB SATA-300 | GeForce GTX1080
Camera: Canon 60D | Sigma 10-20/4.0-5.6 | Canon 100/2.8 | Tamron 18-270/3.5-6.3
OK, added all that stuff in, now it looks like:
%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Rational\common
And everything is right in the world.
