Ultimate XHTML / CSS Text Editor?

I'm currently using the 20 use trial of TopStyle, and it's incredible - auto complete for pretty much every tag, live preview - great software. Trouble is, to use it more than 20 times is going to cost me £50, which I don't have to spend on software right now. Is there anything as good as this which costs nothing / less?

I use Notepad2, probably not the best, but i really really like it.

Sorry, just re-read your thread fully and realised my post was a bit brief...

Notepad2 does little more then syntax highlighting, I like it becuase I use it in place of normal windows Notepad, it's a light weight app thats brilliant for general text/code editting, it doesn't hold features such as tag autocompletion or anything. Blessing in disguise imo, if theres nothing to complete it for you you will learnand remember a lot more.

I've found NVU a bit flaky to be honest. Hopefully it will get better.

In the meantime you could try Amaya - http://www.w3.org/Amaya/

Araneae is also another simple one i use.

    Homepage here

Its yet again a completely lightweight solution, got the following features (i copied from the homepage cos i'm too lazy to type what i think the best features are):

    # Syntax Highlighting
    # Unlimited document length
    # Line numbers
    # Drag and drop support for files and images
    # Instant browser preview, even without saving
    # Tabbed multi-document interface

I forgot i used it 'till the other day when I opened a document in it by accident.
