Won't happen - You'd have to buy another copy of Xp I'm afraid.
The only system's I put OEM on are Shuttles, cos the likelyhood of changing a motherboard is slim.

You may have to re-activate it but you should be able to do that.

"If you overhaul your computer by replacing a substantial number of hardware components, it may appear to be a different PC. You may have to reactivate Windows XP. If this should occur, you can call the telephone number displayed on the activation screen to reactivate the software."

Very true for the retail editions. However, you'll find that Microsoft will NOT re-activate an OEM version.

I've done it with an OEM copy of XP Home, admittedly not with a mobo.
Didn't need to actually speak to anyone.

You can also "reset" XP with a very, very little bit of editing (done that too).
    Details available on the net.

yes you can do it, i replaced the mobo, also got new ram & cpu for the board did a clean install, log on auto reg no problem but note it was well past the 120 day update reset issue.
Give it a try see what happens and let us no.
