    Peer Guardian 2

    Hey Guys,

When I go to start PG2 I get the error that the file pgfilter.sys is missing, or is not installed as a service. I tried uninstalling PG and rebooting, installing it again, and I get the error that PG2 asked to be terminated in an unusual way. I tried running the PG repair thing, and it told me driver not found, no need to recover?

Any ideas, I'm using EZ antivirus and Windows Firewall - neither up until now have caused a problem, so I doubt its them. Otherwise PG was downloaded from Methlabs, and updated everyday?

    Many thanks

    Dave

Nope, I dont think it can run as a service? I just load mine when I need it. I just had a look around in it and no options for running it as a service either.

    hmm you tried reinstalling...?

I think it has to run something on driver level which might be causing the problems.

.sys is something that likes to run in kernel mode, one of the easyest ways of doing this is to be a kernel mode service (you can be a usermode one too). It makes it quite hard to get around it, if properly written impossible, enless you run as administrator of course.
