using htaccess to block IP addresses?

    Hi,

I keep getting someone from one particular IP address sending me stupid comments through my comments script on my website - is there a way of using htaccess to block an IP address, or even better, bring up an alternative page with something offensive on it?

better yet, add a firewall rule:
    Code:
    iptables -A INPUT -i eth1 -s 123.45.67.8 -j DROP
if a particular IP is harrashing you, why bother letting it communicate with your machine at all?

Great if you have access to the firewall, sadly most people wont (unlikely in a normal rented hosting case)
