Urgent help required - fooked PC!

I had a bit of an accident yesterday, and managed to knock my PC over; now it boots so far, then resets after a BSOD.

My first thought was to try and image the knackered drive, and then reinstall Windows (or apply a previous image), but True Image freezes on trying to access the drive (2 x SATA disks on RAID 0) as does Windows setup.

I thought I try and create a BartPE boot CD, but first I need the drivers for the SATA RAID (this is an Abit AV8-3rd eye) to integrate them into a Windows install CD with nLite (the PC in question has no floppy drive and I can't put my hands on the driver disk anyway). I need the 'text mode' driver I believe as the PnP one is no good when Windows setup first starts.

So,any help or advice would be very greatfully received!

It's probably something you've already tried, but can you get into safe mode?

EDIT - just downloaded the sATA drivers from http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=201 which seems to have the correct drivers for a boot floppy/slipstreaming into an install CD.

Windows freezes when tyring to access them?

    so it sees them first?

What error are you getting on the BSOD?

Yep, it sees the drives, the RAID array etc. fine.

The BSOD flashes onscreen so quickly I don't get time to see what it says before the machine reboots.

Here's the thing - as soon as I enable legacy USB support in the BIOS (which I need to select safe mode from the windows boot menu) the machine doesn't see the SATA drives - turn USB support off, and they're back; Windows tries to boot from 'em again. Weird eh?

Yeah, I downloaded the drivers you pointed out - I've tried slipstreaming various ones, but no joy...

Perhaps a stupid question, but you have looked inside the PC for dislodged fans etc? ie: are you sure the BSOD is HDD related? Could it be temp/other hardware related - maybe it's only when the temps build that things go pear shaped.

Firstly do a simple check of all components to make sure they are inserted correctly and haven't dislodged. Then do as Madman suggests and post back if you still get a BSOD.
