and hyperlinks are:

Just a small hint before you start... I would personally use XHTML, which is essentially a tider version of HTML. There are various differences, such as tags being in lowercase e.g.
and having to close every tag e.g.Code:<b>Bold text</b>
Code:<p>This is a paragraph.
<br />Oooh, a line break!</p>
Mike's right - it's easier to learn XHTML from the start, than learning it later on :)
Maybe get some hosting too, always a good start :)
XHTML is quite a good standard, having to enclose all commands and declaring all your tags as such. Perhaps mix it up when you have html skills with a little Javascript - only if your comfortable with html though.
i use fasthosts. 3.99 a month. there is probably cheaper options too.
Rite,
Updates, ive got a site that theyve said to me "Wed basicly like something like this"
www.iainogg.com
Theyve bought www.mrr-rallyteam.com but im still waiting on them getting me the login details etc for that, so im not sure at all what package they have.
Any1 suggest a site i should go to for basicly learning everything ill need to make a site like www.iainogg.com ?
Also any1 suggest a really user freindly / noob freindly program?
that sort of nice basic site doesn't just happen over night.
You've been given a good few examples of what to do in this thread, the best one was "learn the basics first" such as html, or xhtml.
5 style pages - you won't need anything flash, there are plenty of free templates out there. If you learn a bit, find a half respectable editor like dreamweaver to help you out with bits you don't understand, learn the basics of html - you'll be fine.
Stop asking, start reading.
ikonia is right...you really need to learn basic html before you can even think of moving to dreamweaver.
Rite ive read through the HTML and XHTML guides on www.w3schools.com. It was the first result i got on google so i went with it!
Im currently looking for a template but i cant seem to find anything that suits what the person wants. A dark blue / yellow template would be good.
Currently waiting my dads freind bringing a copy of dreamweaver over (business copy, plenty uses left i think) and a copy of Photoshop 7.
If any1 sees a blue / yellow template just post a link please :P
Can't you just find a template you like, and change the colours you like? Should be fairly simple once you've got a basic grasp of XHTML/CSS.Quote:
