    Network Monitoring App

    Hi all i'm on limited connection thanks to my university and am limited to 500mb per day (upload/download) I have programs to monitor my daily amount but these arent 100% accurate so I was wondering if any1 knew of a program which will monitor my downloads/uploads and at say 450mb terminate my network connection.

    I doubt there is a program like this but just wanted to see if anyone knew of 1.

    Thanks

    DU Meter will do it, or something like it. It can do alarms, or run programs etc when a certain limit is reached I think.

    Or a free alternative, NetMeter -> http://readerror.gmxhome.de/
    It has warnings that you can set to remind you about your limits (plus some other features, I forget which).

    It depends how you are downloading, since you cannot really "unplug" an ethernet connection via software, you'll have to run a script which will automatically stop the program that's doing all the transferring.

    I know it will warn you (you set the limit) but im not sure it will disconnect you. May be worth a look.

    I think disabling the connection or network card (which would be just like unplugging it) is possible using software.
