    Web standards and ASP.NET books

Anyone got any recomendations on books for things like HTML 4.01, XHTML, CSS etc?

    Also any good ASP.NET books?

I've not really done any of this for a few years but have discovered Web Forms 2.0 for IE6 which is very very cool (demo here: http://olav.dk/wf2/demo/) and has inspired me to start looking at converting our Access based Inventory system to a web based one.

The thing that was putting me off was all the validation i would have to do, i always hated that. But Web Forms 2 does most of it on the client side sooooo very easily.

You can't go wrong in buying a SitePoint book, well I haven’t so far anyway. I also highly recommend stuff from apress. The books that ive had from these publishers have so far been excellent. Mind you the only ones I've purchased are PHP/Mysql orientated, i have no idea what the ASP.net books are like. I have heard good things about the CSS book(s) on the sitepoint site though. Have a look there may be somting on boths sites which may be of interest to you.
