Aria stylee image preview

If possible I'd like to have something similar to aria's preview images (when you mouseover an item link a small image of it pops up).

Does anyone know how to do this? Or even better, a tutorial online describing it? I've tried googling but I really don't know how to word the search

I've also checked the source for the page but ideally I'd like to understand exactly what is going on

You can do it with Flash to i think.
