    CD/DVD Buring Software

For ages ive been using the OEM copy of Nero5.5 i got with my LG Drive.
    - However, it doesnt seam to work with my Nec DVD-RW (presumable it is set up to only work with LG drives? can you even do this?)

I used a demo of nero7, but thats just run out, and i didnt really like it anyway.
    - So im currently using a mates copy of Nero Express6, which is also crap compaired earlyer versions of nero.

Are there any dencent CD buring programs that arnt going to cost me more than the drive itsself!!

Well you can pick up a copy of Nero on eBay for around £5. Other than that, try www.downloads.com for a freeware one. Last time i looked into it, Deepburner was the best free one. If you are planning to burn Audio CD's, download Burrrn too.

personally i like Nero 6.5, you should be able to pick it up for about £5 or £10. have a look on Scan and svp.co.uk.

There is some good free software, but i can't remember what it is called right now

You can pick up a downloadable OEM version of the full Nero 6.6 Suite for just $5.95
However... I read remember reading somewhere that of you're going to buy a cheap OEM version of Nero 6.x... don't get Suite 1!!
You should only buy Suite 3 - which... I assume... is because it includes all the Nero components (see the box-out on that page). It's gotta be worth £12.00 (+ P&P) of your hard-earned scheckles

Alternatively... you migtht wanna take a look at CD Burner XP Pro - which is FREEware, akthough donations are encouraged.
A very minor donation however (i.e. just $5.00), allows you access to a 'secret' section of the forums to download the very latest version of the program - including Betas

    Take your pick

Yeah but is that any more legal than using a keygen on a trial version?

I was just corious as to what most people are using/doing really.

NeroExpress and that crappy SmartStart (or whatever it is called) are both useless. Nero BurningROM itself however is pretty good on most counts. The Nero BurningROM interface has hardly changed across versions 5 thru 7 AFAIK... I'm using v6 Ultra edition and its fine anyway.
