Need to join 2 VOBs (MPEG2) together

And VirtualDub wont do it. I ripped a DVD which I made about a year ago (no copy protection on it), and ended up with 2 VOB files, I guess they split after a gig or something.

Anyway, I need to either rip this as one MPEG / VOB file, or find a nice free thing to join them.

Any suggestions?

Why dont you try ripping with dvdshrink and turn off 1gb chunks in preferences/output,

or rename vob to mpeg then join with vdub or nandub

or convert vob with winavi then join

VOB isn't just mpeg2, it's got non-standard encapsulation.

there's also no "splitting" involved - VOB files, as per spec, are a gig each maximum (look on a DVD in the VIDEO_TS folder)

Yeah I just realised that DVD Decrypter was set to split them up when they hit a gig, it now spits out one nicely stream processed MPEG2 file.

I'll leave this here for future info.

If you want to encode it into Divx/Xvid/x264 or whatever, use DGMPGEnc to open the VOB files together, setup AVISynth (with filters/resize/crop) then feed into Virtualdub

Nah I just needed MPEG2 files to shove into Premiere.
