Licensing Question, and Whatever Happened to Imagecast?

    Hi All,
I'm doing some software testing at work and need to be able to recover four machines to a standard configuration (and cheaply too...)

If I were to buy the personal version of Norton Ghost 10, am I right in thinking that I would need a license for each machine? I've only used the enterprise edition in the past...

Also, I've used a product called Imagecast which is far cheaper than the enterprise version of Ghost and therefore might be a better bet. Does anyone know what happened to Storagesoft, the company who used to make it? I understand that the product has been discontinued but would like to find a copy floating around!
    Thanks!

Yeh AFAIK Imagecast has long gone, we used to use it here but had to move to Ghost. And yes your right in saying you'll need 4 ghost licenses for 4 machines. If your handy with linux there are lots of free imaging programs out there. Alternatively there's this freeware utility http://www.partition-saving.com/ I've not used it myself so not sure if it's what your after.

Cheers guys, will investigate those two and see what I come up with!

Next question, since Imagecast is now defunct, is there any reason why I can't obtain a copy and use it legally? I'm not sure how copyright works if a business collapses. If I can't reasonably buy a license, is it illegal to use the software?

I think you'll find it's now owned by Phoenix (the BIOS people).
