    MSConfig...

    why is there so much rubbish in my MSconfig - I've got loads unticked but no way of getting rid of all the useless things there?

    Not only can you disable them, but you can delete the reference from where-ever its being loaded from

    And if you want to remove the unticked entries without using another 3rd party program, open regedit and navigate to:
    HKLM -> Software -> Microsoft -> Shared Tools -> MSconfig and expand it, you can delete them from there

    Does that actually remove the real references though, or just stop them from showing in MSConfig.

    Well, there are paths to the program stored in there so i'm assuming it removes the references, I could be wrong though
