Best Method: How does you company control employee schedules?

    we have exchange etc...

but im looking for the best, easiest way, to collect everyones weekly schedule.

at the minute, we have all 120 employee's emailing one person who inputs the data into a spreadsheet.

i devised a little thing in mysql which is so crap, but works. the problem we have is not everyone has intranet access, so its not 100% gonna work (unless we make the intranet available outside, which we dont really want to do)

another idea i had this morning was to have everyone email !schedule (contact list) and create a rule on each individuals outlook that moves that specific mail into a /schedules/ folder within outlook..

the only downside is that each person will have 120 emails a week. and could prove a pain to see where everyone is.

how does your company do this?

I'm sure sharepoint can be used for this. you'll have to look into publishing an extranet.

Sharepoints pretty good as a....well...sharing tool. Works pretty nice and you can setup access to only the people you want. Works pretty well

yep - the free version ( aside from keeping your licence complaint ) will do everything you want it to. The full version is just like having multiple WSS sites all nested , you can give people their own personal site on it , but thats most likely going a little far for you.

its also very easy to plug parts into sharepoint ( google for sharepoint web parts ) to customise it to your needs.
