Activating windows...

I've changed some hardware in a pc with windows, now it wants me to re-activate windows before i can do anything otherwise it won't let me log on.

i've put in a network card, setup dhcp on the network, yet it doesn't seem to be working...

so is the only way going to be phoning them up?

why won't they let me configure my network settings manually eg, setting up an ip address etc, then i could activate it over the net

ah wasn't so bad after all, just phoned them up, they gave me a number an wala!

yeah its easy isnt it this happened to me last time i swapped gfx cards and i got myself in a sweat only to have it sorted over the phone in less than 5 mins sweet

Sweet, but why do they presume your guilty of software theft, and the responsibility is on you to prove you aint a thief even tho youve payed the money got the box, got the hologramatic cd?

Pfft @ that rubbish, stick to win2k at least they presume your not a theif and then have to prove that you are!

Yup its easy as m00000000, but totaly pointless, a waste of time, and a damn cheek imo. What buisness is it of MS when u change a peice of hardware on ur system. If they dont trust us y should we trust and buy products from them.
