Thread: Windows 2000 Registry Error - BSOD at startup

    Windows 2000 Registry Error - BSOD at startup

    Recently I did a complete reinstall of Windows 2000 + SP4, reloaded software, firewall, anti-virus etc. Now two weeks later and completely out of the blue (quite literally) I get a BSOD "REGISTRY_ERROR" STOP: 0x051, 0x0C, 0x05, etc) each time the computer boots.

    Is there any way of restoring the registry??? (I know that in Win98 the computer held copies of the last five registry backups). I've tried "Last known good config" but to no avail. Computer will boot in Safe Mode.

    I should point out that this was done on an older Athlon XP 1700+ and not my main machine (see sig).
