    You know what's quite intruiging?

Having had my new components for a couple of weeks now, i have noticed a stable increase in my PPD, of ~2000PPD.

Baring in mind that I am only using the GPU client, so, was my CPU bottlenecking in my old system (AthlonX2 6400+be), or is it just the increased memory speed from these 2000mhz DIMMs?

    Thoughts?

Either way, it's quite a nice jump considering it's the same GPU that is folding

Definitely intriguing! Assuming you went from the Athlon X2 to your i7 870 it's hard to think of anything other than a CPU bottleneck, really. Do you run much additional stuff, or is it mainly the one GPU folding client? What you could be seeing it Turbo Boost (or whatever Intel called it) coming into play, I guess... I wouldn't think GPU folding would be particularly sensitive to the bandwidth of main memory...

hmmm, just a wildcard thought - you've not gone from PCIe 1.1 -> PCIe 2.0 have you...?
