    Dual CPU crunching...

Well, I got me a dual p3-500 machine - with w2k pro on, so how do I get 2 instances of UD / Seti running , or can I run UD on one CPU, and Seti on the other?

    Thanks

    Josh

UD does not suport dual CPU machines at the moment, but it is possible to get the one machine to run 2 instances of UD at the same time.

Another you could do, as you have said is to run SETI on one and UD on another, but we all know you just wanna run UD on both really

I got a Dual p2 350 running win 2k server, and have Seti Crunching on 1 cpu and UD crunching on the other... I guess you could run 2 copies of UD and assign each one it's own CPU. Although I can't remember how I did this (Probably right click the exe and do properties or somehting(

yeah , i've got it working now

you right click the process and you can set the affinity there, so i've got UD running on one cpu and seti on the other

just need to figure out if it's possible to set it so that after a reboot it automatically does this...?

Getting two instances of Seti running is very easy. It can be done with command line parameters direct to the CMD client, but the way I do it is simply to use SetiDriver as a front-end. Then, just set "Maximum Processes" to 2 and tick Processor Affinity (which effectively locks one process to a given CPU and prevents lots of time wasted in attmepts to load balance between the CPU's.

    Job done.

I can't comment on UD as I don't run it.
