Ok guys I know that you can fax in XP using the inbuilt program but you cannot do it over Broadband. Does anybody know of a way of faxing documents from my pc to a fax using my scanner and a broadband connection?

Google for Internet Faxing.
I think you just email or upload a scan of the page you want to fax and they send it on. It does cost, but i don't know how much, never used them before.
I did that mate I was wondering if there was any other way of doing it but I guess not.

some will let you have a VoIP number straight to your computer, but there is little advantage in this over most internet fax services, enless you want to share the number between voice and fax.

something tells me you haven't googled 'email to fax', because if you had, you might see more than a few services offering free outbound faxing tools

I have tried one or two of these 'fax over internet' services in the past, but in the end found that it was far cheaper and more effective to buy a cheap fax modem card and just use that and the cards free fax software.
I've done , this but it does var on the ammount of faxes you are trying to send. I had a client trying to send 1000+ faxes per day over a cheap fax card and we would only ever get about 65% delivery. Spending a few hundred notes on a proper fax board uppped that delivery rate to over 90%Originally Posted by Cmot

I must admit that it was only the occasional fax that I use it for. I guess if I had the need to send that vol of faxes I would prob. buy a 2nd hand proper fax machine. In fact I find that faxing is being used less and less these days.
