We have forums for computer hardware, and forums for software and operating systems. Infact, there is a forum for most things computery. Why not take two seconds to look for the right forum instead of posting crap in general discussion?
And just so I don't get accused of being completely cold hearted... www.themexp.org
themexp's not so hot since they started wrapping all their downloads in spyware
Ok, thanks

Forgot to mention XPize.

Its a great program that skins resource files such as the add new hardware wizard, which the graphics haven't really been updated in for years.... just don't let it change your startup screen logo :(
Google for the UXTheme patcher from Neowin, you should find two links, one doesn't work, the other does (I think the second works), download and run, it will require a reboot.
Then search for "XP Styles" or "XP VisualStyles" on sites like Customize.org or Deviantart.com
You then extract these into the Windows\Resources\Themes\ folder, take a look at the text files included in the zip with one of the themes.
This method takes no more resources than the standard windows theme as it uses the built in skinning section of Windows. (sorry I can't go into more detail but I've gotta go)
i used some software recommended by Kempez and it works a treat :bowdown:Quote:

doesn't screw your pc up or replace any files it just patches them :)
Before (No XPize)
After (XPize)
I use Winblinds 5.0, isnt alot to pay if you're justing skinning the GUI.. But the whole package with that silly DesktopX thingy is just a total waste of money in my opinion..
Winblinds works for me, might work for other too.. havent used CrystalXP, but Winblinds is by far better than StyleXP..
binary patching can generally considered to be both screwing and replacing critical system filesQuote:
