    Iis

I have lost IIS after reformating and reinstalling XP Professional. I thought IIS was part of XP Professional but it seems I need to reinstall it. I've tried reinstalling it via Control Panel and Add/Remove programs. I put the XP CD in the drive but the installation fails because the PC asks for a disc containing SP2 to be inserted. My copy of XP says it already includes SP2, so I don't understand why it doesn't work.

    Any ideas please? TIA

/me throws a unix manual with I'd like to run asp.net services so apache is about as much use as wheels on a tomato written on it at Hexxeh

    not the answer to give

IIS is an optional component in XP ( well it gives you a cut down version limited to a single site if memory serves me )

I'd try a different CD - what file is it asking for ?

a usefull tip is to make a copy of the i386 folder from your OS Cd on your local drive , so that it'll use that instead of asking for the Cd.

If Moby's suggestion doesn't work, try downloading the network version of SP2, unpacking it and pointing the windows components installer in that direction
