I've been running it since it came out in Windows and Ubuntu Dapper and it's not crashed once. Widgets seem a bit gimicky though. To add alternative stylesheets you don't need to edit the opera6.ini file anymore, just drop the .css files in profile\styles and they show up under View after restarting.

If you've ever used linux they're similar to gdesklets.

Have a look at these examples:

    http://my.opera.com/community/custom...gets/?show=rec

You can have them running in the background, or pin them to your desktop.

And if you don't know what gdesklets are:

Well i'm going to give this a try I think

The Bit torrent support still pisses me off, but I guess it does still have *some* legitimate use eh

my current opera 8.5 ? on both mac and pc crashes randomly, more so with the mac.

also with opera pages take ages to load sometimes, ie. it hangs whilst loading a page, or not all the images are loaded.

i am getting pretty annoyed with opera at the moment, but hopefully this 9 release will solve a lot of the problems! (corsses fingers)

Loving this new release, Opera 8.5 was perfect for me and this is just even better. I agree with the Widgets being gimmicky, so I don't bother using them. Beats the pants out of Firefox imo.

Oh god. I have a horrible feeling this is going to degenerate into one of those tedious firefox vs opera fights.

For those of you who don't know, if you right click a webpage in opera 9 you should see an item called 'block content' which allows you to kill ads, etc (click the page, not the ad). It's a bit rough but it works.

The simplist way to kill ads is to use filters.ini. (see http://nontroppo.org/wiki/BlockAdvertisements for more info)

The easiest way to build a filters.ini file is to download:
    http://www.operaadfilter.com/

    I've been converted.

Installed this yesterday, not touched FF or IE since

The mouse gestures are great (I have never tried them before), the looks are nice once customised properly, and no crashes yet.

My fav feature though is that 'block content' thing, its genius, and seems to work so well with most sites.

I was using Opera 8, for some reason Opera 9 did not import my old bookmarks.

Anyway, I dont care too much because this new Opera is kick ass!

    Nope, nothing.

I had to reset a few passwords lol. Opera 9 is worth it though, its brilliant.
