    No Boot filename recieved?

    Ok a friend of a friend has windows XP home and when she turns on the comp, a black screen appears saying "no boot filename received", then nothing else happens, it just hangs on that screen.

    Any ideas what this is? Maybe its simple but i dont know enough to know what it means or how to fix it.

    TIA
    Chris.

    That is, I think, the network interface trying to boot, which means either the boot order in the BIOS is wrong, or the hard drive isn't being detected/read properly and so the BIOS is failing to boot from it and trying everything else it can...

    Indeed, a different setup, but the same error, and it's from Intel's PXE network interface: http://www.computing.net/windows2003...orum/3408.html
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
