    Mounting Drives

Got a copy of Kubuntu running on this machine as I type, I've installed and then added 2 drives, one IDE and one SATA, I'm buggered if I can get them to mount tho, the disk manager lets me go in in su mode and add partitions n stuff but it wont actually mount them, i get a return code 32 from the disk & Filesystems proggu, anyone any clues, I've tried differnt mount points and different file systems but it doesnt bloody work, anyone any ideas...?

are they set up correctly in fstab? If not are you giving mount all the proper options in the right order?

theres a file called fstab in the /etc directory, the drives need an entry in there for something like mount /dev/hda to work, otherwise mount doesnt know what options to use.

nano /etc/fstab from a command line (as super user) should do you, its pretty well commented so it shouldnt be too difficult to figure out what goes where. Make sure to use tabs as spacers though, not spaces.
