weird - do you get error messages? what happens when you try and install, what stage does it stop at.
what graphics card do you have?
have you tried redhat 8/9?
Knoppix crashes on the desktop on all the desktop managers.
Arklinux fals to initilise the installer
Mandrake enters 2nd stage install and hangs
stuff it, my affair with linux is at an end.
gone back to windoze
Weird motherboard is probably root of prob - most of the k6-2 supporting boards were a bit odd at best.
Should try Open or Free BSD. Open BSD's supposed to work on just about anything & will run Linux apps.
i have a machine that always crashes when installing windows, no matter what version, however debian installs fine and flawlessly.
i would agree with 0id's comment about bsd, but then again it's presumed you know more if you're installing bsd... same for debian/gentoo too i'd guess.
don't give up yet!
