I'm having a couple of issues with MCE 2005.
First up, when I'm in windowed mode, rather than full screen, if I'm browsing the web or something, it's next to impossible to watch TV. Anytime a box pops up (a bubble in the system tray, a tool tip, a drop down box, I click the start button, anything that requires fade of some sort I guess), Media Center has a bit of a fit for a few seconds, before returning to normal. It's doing my nut. It does do it in full screen too, but obviously multi-tasking while in full-screen isn't often an issue. I've tried a few MPEG2 codecs. Any guesses?
Secondly, and something that I'm getting used to, PAL here in the UK uses 25fps, while ATI's graphics drivers can't select 50Hz as a refresh rate, so any side-to-side movement (ticker text on news and sport for instance) is almost unreadable. I've exhausted all the phrases I can in Google searches, but it looks like there's nothing you can do about it with an ATI graphics card. Anyone else got a way around it? A 75Hz refresh rate is better than a 60Hz (being a multiple), but it never gets activated, the monitor still showing only 60Hz.
Specs: Opty 146@2.7, X1900XT, Dell 2405FPW (1920x1200 @ 60Hz native), GDI Black Gold DVB, Audigy 4 Pro
Any guesses at all, especially to the first issue, which no-one else seems to suffer.
