    Webpage Blocker

    Is there some software you can get that'll block certain websites?

    Loads of ways, depends why and what you are trying to do.

    Use a local proxy like privoxy, and add the site to the banned list.

    Add the site to yor /etc/hosts with 127.0.0.1 as the IP so connections fail.

    Use firefoxe's blocking tools to turn off images & all active content.

    Install parental control software, or use your ISP's to block the site.

    Im beginning to sound like a bit of a fan boy, but dd-wrt on linksys routers supports 10 seperate restriction poilcies, either by black or whitelist, or by keyword.

    You can use IE's built in website-blocker, iirc it accepts wildcards so you could block every site, and then add a few to the exclusion list..

    tools->internet options->security->restricted sites

    Not sure it would block other browsers from accessing too though..if not then its easy to bypass by installing another browser.

    Out of interest why does it have to be done on a per-pc basis? Surely it would just be easier to setup a content filtering system a la Dansguardian?
