    memtester for a 64 bit CPU

    memtest 86 crashes out on all the 64 bit CPU's at work - does any one know of a 64 bit testing software?

    if u run linux on the 64bit pc you can download the source from memtest86 linux and recompile it for 64bit. might work.

    Good suggestion there ingouk.

    I just hope the memory controller on the CPU (rather than on the chipset) doesn't cause compatability issues with memtest.

    I doubt it though.

    If you don't run linux, you could always install a copy onto a virtual PC and compile memtest there. Or, search to see if somebody has already done it. There's usually somebody out there who's done it already, lol!

    Gotta love open source!
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();
