My (linux) sound aaplications use uk.freedb.org (port 8880) to do CD lookups - not sure if you can configure Win media player to use the same. Freerip (under Windows) uses the same.
(Just had a quick look at Win MP - can't find any config options - but then it isn't my media player of choice - config might be a registry editing option...)
If I understand correctly, you want a program to look on the internet and name all your tracks when you rip them?
Try cdex for windows. It might be able to do the same thing for tracks that are already on your PC, I'm not sure.
i second ajbruns suggestion for using cdex, its a good program that lets you rip to a variety of different formats, as well as using the database to search for the track names etc.
the biggest plus is that its free.
get it here
If they are very new albums then they may not be in the database... if it naming the track and ripping, have a look at free rip at http://www.mgshareware.com/frmmain.shtml
As its name implies, it is also free!
There are loads of goot rippers and taggers out there. I use EAC (Exact Audio Copy) for ripping and Tag&Rename for tidying up my tags. EAC will grab album info from FreeDB. Tag&Rename can also do this, it can also get album info and artwork from Amazon.
