    Installing PHPMyAdmin

    Hi,

    I am trying to install the above onto my system but i am coming across a problem. I have php and sql already on my system but when i added the phpmyadmin files to the htdoc folder and went to the index page of the folder in a browser i come across this error:

    cannot load mysql extension;
    please check PHP configuration

    Anyone know why it has not worked?

    Cheers,
    RealM

    I found this article on experts-exchange. Might be of some use to you.

    Good luck... When I was fiddly with a local install of PHP/MySQL I found it a bit fiddly too.

    So you've set extension_dir properly, set extension=php_mysql.dll and installed the right connector (and urgh, upgrade MySQL!) ?

    Well after a lot of hard work it is finally working. In the end i actually ended up finding a program which does it all for you (Which i wish someone had pointed out to me before i started all this)

    If anyone wants to install a fully working sever on their machines then just download http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp.html and install it.
