Angry 2 audio streams in a .avi

Not sure if this is the right forum ? ..but I'm having a nightmare with a .avi file with 2 audio streams. One german, one english.....all I want to do is get rid of the german one, and re-save with just the english....sounds easy ? Wrong.....I've tried vdubmod, avimuxgui, etc....but just can't figure them out.

    Any tips/advice very much appreciated

    Thanks

the avi spec does *not* allow for multiple audio streams

you might get some joy with a directshow-playback-based demuxer app, and the morgan streamswitcher

    Yeah, vdubmod will do it.

Load your .avi. In the video menu make sure you choose 'Direct stream copy'. In the streams menu, open the stream list - you will see your 2 audio streams. Double click the German stream to disable it, close the audio stream window, then hit F7 to save it to a new file.

    That should sort you out.

or you can just play it with VLC - which will let you select the audio track (so you can have only english for example)

No probs - glad you got it sorted out.

Direct Stream Copy makes things much easier - no supersize uncompressed .avi files sucking up all your HD space!
