How to add an extension to "known file types"?

.rm files still show the extension in explorer even though they open with the right player and have the right icon.

Any way to tell windows that .rm files are a known file type and its ok for it to hide the extensions?

.ra is hidden, but .rm stays shown

in an explorer window, go to tools>folder options. click the file types tab, and click new. Add the extension to the list and it should hide it

i'd ask why you want to hide *any* extensions! can only cause problems and mistakes in my experience

Hiding extensions makes it a LOT easier to rename files when you need to, without having to think about extensions
