    Installing Vista tomorrow(sunday) any tips?

Looking at installing vista tomorrow(prob 64bit version).

Just wondered if anyone who's already installed it has any tips/advice for installing and using vista.

btw, any idea if there is a vlsta driver available for gigabit network chip on my mobo. Without it, I cannot get online.
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.

Dont install it if you dont have the drivers, I certainly wouldnt get rid of xp for a vista beta that struggles too play some games but also lacks driver support for many devices.

Heres a list of hardware and software compatible:

Install it in VMware if you want to give it a whirl, don't bother wiping out your WinXP install for it, you wont be consistantly productive on it.. It's what it's name implies.. Beta..

I'm going to install it so I can dual boot between vista and XP as want to see what the useability and stability are like(bearing in mind it's a beta).

Bit of a stupid question(but I've never had 2 operating sys installed at same time before), any way the 2 operating systems can share a common drive for programs(ie only install a prog once but both o/s can use it). I already have a seperate partition for my program files.

I don't think that's going to work, most programs setup registry entires during installation that's needed for the running of the program, you can try, but chances are you'll just have to install them again for vista.
