    ntpd on Debian

No doubt a stupid question... but I'll ask it anyway! My motherboard clock is amazingly inaccurate, so I (try to) keep it in check with ntpd. The problem is that I have to reset the clock manually, using ntpd -s. Is there anyway to get ntpd, when it starts up during bootup, to this automatically?

    Thanks

    Mike.

install the ntpdate package? it should be launched by /etc/init.d/ntpdate (on sarge) or /etc/networking/if-postup.d/ntpdate (on etch/ubuntu) on boot
