CD-RW writing under XP

What do you use for writing to CD-RWs under Windows XP? I am assuming there is not built in function within XP for writing to CD-RWs.

I have DirectCD which came with my CD writer but it is incompatible under Windows XP . It appears DirectCD is now called Drag-to-CD and bundled with the expensive Easy CD Creator, boo! Anyone know where I can download a trial version of Easy CD creator to see if it is any good?

Preferably, I am looking for CD-RW software that will allow dragging and dropping via windows explorer, my computer, etc. like DirectCD did.

drag the files you want to burn onto the CDRW in My Computer (it doesn't matter if there's a disc in the drive or not), then click the burn button when you're done

there's also a semi-official ISO burning powertoy for XP available here

personally I just run Nero 5.5

If you want drag-and-drop writing, the two main apps are Roxio DirectCD and Nero InCD, both of which are tools which can write disks in the CD-MRW (Mount Rainer) format.

try here for a nero trial. there is no easy cd creator trial.

Oh yeah, thank you. This is what I get for listening to someone else rather than checking it out myself. If I find out she has been trying to burn files to a non-writeable CD-ROM there will be trouble.

Also, this is why assumptions are called the mother of all f***-ups.

What is the deal with the xp burning software ? Is this made by roxio ? I think I saw it mentioned somewhere. Is this microsoft eating another company whole again ?
