Little gems of Software that you might want to try

Here's an idea for a thread: let us know about certain pieces of software that you use that you think might be useful to others.
There's so many handy little apps out there I'm sure there are people here who use stuff that others haven't heard of.

    So, I'll get started...

DigiGuide - DigiGuide is a TV guide for Windows that allows you to search, organise and get reminders for your favourite programmes without ever opening a web browser.
I've been subscribed to it for a few years now, it's dirt cheap and ever so handy. Particularly the voice reminders..."Parm, this is a reminder, Match of the Day is about to start on BBC1 in 10 minutes".

Daemon Tools - DAEMON Tools is a virtual cd/dvd-rom emulator. It is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today.
As a result, my cd/dvd burner has been hardly used for years.

Windows Live Messenger - IM programs are always of personal preference and there's a great selection of apps to choose from. Live Messenger has come along nicely since it's beta days and it's ability to now communicate with Yahoo Messenger is another of it's useful features.

Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP - PowerToys add fun and functionality to the Windows experience. What are they? PowerToys are additional programs that developers work on after a product has been released.
The highlight for me is TweakUI, this PowerToy gives you access to system settings that are not exposed in the Windows XP default user interface, including mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more.
I use it after each clean install of Windows to easily change the default location of the My Music and My Videos folders.

There's a few to get us started. Now lets see what everyone else can recommend.

PDFCreator - simple really, install it, it creates a virtual printer that spits out PDFs. It's free, simple and works with just about any program.
7Zip - excellent free alternative to Winzip or WinRAR.
