    AVG free not updated?

I'm running AVG free, and the little AVG symbol in the system tray is black and white, suggesting it's not up to date. I click on it, tell it to update the virus definition (the only one that shows up as out of date) and it says there are no new updates available!
    Any ideas anyone?

It's probably that the servers are just busy. Either try again later, or download one of the updates from here: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/24/lng/us/tpl/v5 to a place on your desktop. Double click the icon in your system tray, it will open AVG. Click 'Check for Updates...' choose 'folder' and direct it to where you saved the file you downloaded. Click the file, click open AVG will update. Minimise the program, or click the large 'X' in the corner. It will say 'do you wish to close AVG' say 'No', it will return to running in your system tray.

When the wifes PC does this, it usally means the AV wants the PC rebooting to complete the installation of some patch

I had that a while ago, so I just went to the grisoft site and downloaded a new client. A bit fiddly I know, but it fixed the problem.
