    vntothec.exe??

    Hi there,

My mums computer has suddenly started complaining about running a non-verified exe called 'vntothec.exe', its being started at logon and has been installed into windows\system32...

VNC is installed on it, but I dont think think its part of that... have run norton on it and it doesnt think its a virus, and I cant find any information on the 'net about it..

Has anyone come across this before??

    Thanks,
    Me.

sounds like spyware to me - it'll be a randomly created filename.

have you run it through spybot / adaware ?

Well it's not on any of the process list sites, which means spyware most likely. Probably picks from a large list of .exe names at install. Only one result comes up in google.

forget the programs you are trying they are old and outdated.

Ewido is the current pick of the crop and it has a free online scanner too.
