[Start] [Run] [Regedit]
Registry Key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.
Data Type: String Value // Value Name: DefaultUserName
Setting for Value Data: [Enter the account name to be automatically logged on]
Data Type: String Value // Value Name: DefaultPassword
Setting for Value Data: [Enter the account password]
Data Type: String Value // Value Name: AutoAdminLogon
Setting for Value Data: [0 = Disabled / 1 = Enabled]
Exit Registry and Reboot
start - run - control userpasswords2 - untick box.
It stumped me for a while too It beats tweak ui and registry editting

in the "users and passwords" section of control panel.. what happens if you deselect the "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" box? i dont want to try it incase i cant login
wierd how it asks you when you install windows for the first time, but hides the option once you've made up your mind...
