    how'd ya get rid of..

    ..the damn windows logon and/or welcome screen? i dont want either - ive only got one user account (without password), guest is turned off. ive done it millions of times before :|

    sorry for noobish question im just frustrated with it X|

    Automatic logon eh

    use TweakUI then go to logon tab tick the automatic logon box put your username and pass and thats it

    you can do it without tweak as i have before - cant remember how thou :|

    Modify/Create the Value Data Type(s) and Value Name(s) as detailed below.

    Setting for Value Data: [Enter the account name to be automatically logged on]

    Data Type: String Value // Value Name: DefaultPassword
    Setting for Value Data: [Enter the account password]

    Data Type: String Value // Value Name: AutoAdminLogon
    Setting for Value Data: [0 = Disabled / 1 = Enabled]

    Exit Registry and Reboot

    start - run - control userpasswords2 - untick box.

    It stumped me for a while too It beats tweak ui and registry editting
    I dont like sig pics so i turn off sigs Which doesnt help when i dont know what ive written here! DOH!

    in the "users and passwords" section of control panel.. what happens if you deselect the "users must enter a username and password to use this computer" box? i dont want to try it incase i cant login

    wierd how it asks you when you install windows for the first time, but hides the option once you've made up your mind...

    u can try to download the utility called TWEAKUI free from microsoft site. after that go to autologon and tick the box. u can also tune up other things qs well
