I may have to try it out to see what it's like
signing up now - but - "use no more than 100Gbytes" !! What's that about - why would it ever need anywhere near 100Gbytes!
oooh - it's got a built in benchmark, that's neat

mine doesn't seem to be working :/
I've installed it, given it the url and code thing, set it to "run always" but it's just not using the processor at all - I don't think it's even downloaded any data yet...
edit - Aha! it said something about my id and code being wrong, so i re-put them in and now it's downloading the stuff

how does it work?
Checking it out right now.
My only problem would be that they don't support offline work units...
At the moment, the current SETI system suits me, cos I can process units away from my main PC

BOINC seems to slow my PC down more noticably than UD. So I think I'll stick to UD.

Well, I'm still mostly focused on the 'classic' S@H, but I've not devoted one of my rigs to BOINC AutoPulse...

i was thinking i might have a go of it when i reach 500
I'm sticking with S@H until they rip it from my cold clammy fingers.
Still keeping an eye on BOINC too though

Yeah i found the always run bit, and renetered the username etc, but it seemed be unable to download anything as it would get errors when querying that cgi script at berkeley.

Just wondering if BOINC is aimed towards broadband users??
Only asking cos I'm still on 56k at home, and although I'm allowed to crunch S@H at work, I'm unable to send units thru the works firewall... so I'm tranferring units between home and work at the moment

Yeah, it works with 56k, but when it updates the clients, the download can take some time. I've got BOINC installed on a few PCs, one of which in my flat which only has dial-up.Originally Posted by Dazbo666
