Not quite the same, but, having to write a massive geography project out in word that was due the next day (yes, left until the last minute), it was boiling hot and I had a splitting headache!

I swear to god, it has put me off MS Office!

Failing that, trying to get ISDN to work in Linux a couple of years ago, GAH!!

Losing three weeks worth of 5 day a week coding for my employer when the dev box hard drive died and the backup CDRW hadn't written properly, rendering it useless.

    I cried

Was going to say Finite Element Analysis but to be different I'll say

    coding!

Especially when you know people who can code without even thinking about whet they're doing!

Trying to sort out KT133E/Soundblaster Live 5.1 patches so my machine:
    a) doesn't crackle whilst playing sound
    b) doesn't lag or refuse to buffer when playing AC3
    c) doesn't require me to turn off DMA on my DVD-ROM
    d) doesn't screw up stpgnt CPU idling
    e) doesn't corrupt when copying large files
    f) doesn't BSOD on using my CD-RW

So far it's about 4 out of 6 of the above. Need new soundcard tbh, but am waiting for a new motherboard with soundstorm.

Reinstalling Windows and all the other required software. Multiple times, thanks to MBR corruption. Wound up doing this half a dozen times inside the space of 2 months.

Flashing a 9700 pro bios on my 9700 np and not checking first if i have a spare PCI card handy incase it went wrong.

It went wrong and all the pc would do is beep
Then searched for 2 hours for my old Matrox mystique PCI videocard, then realising i didnt have it anymore (Was in my sisters pc)

Had no pc, and couldnt play any games for two days while i waited for the day my dad opened his shop where he kept some spares, found an old ATI rage PCI card there, had to pretend i was coming to visit him so had to stay at least a couple of hours (Yawn!)

Then took it home, and thank f@!~ it worked!!
phew wont try that again in a hurry.
