Anyway to do it ? - its driving me mad.
Forgot to enable it in the BIOS before hand (you'd think it would be default by now)

i'm working a bit from memory here, but...:
* look in device manager for something that sounds like a PC - e.g. "Standard PC"
* try and update the driver
* ask to see a list of all drivers for this class
* pick something like "ACPI Multiprocessor PC"
ought to convicne windows that your machine is capable of advanced ACPI power saving modes
Thats one of the first things i tried joe , but no luck(already showing as the multiprocessor one)
Whats making it worse, is that powercfg /a shows S3 once its been enabled in the BIOS. But windows just wont use it.
Going to try reinstalling drivers and other various system things tomrrow.
