    Exchange partition completely full...HELP!

I arrive into work this morning knowing full well my manager has gone on his fishing trip. The first thing that I hear as I step through the door?

"Oli the email systems not working!" the receptionist whines at me.

Sure enough the exchange stroage drive was completly full. Not a single byte was left unaccounted. I tried re-mounting the storage drive in order for people to at least kill off some emails...but no avvail.

I was onto my uber-geek contacts within seconds of figuring out for myself that this was bad...my phone had been going off like an attack alarm reather than a casual internal call phone. It appears I cannot defrag the drivein its state as there is no available room. I also cannot shutdown the server as the company needs it running. It's got to be running by the end of today, and my managers has decided to switch his phone off...brilliant.

I need help people and I need help fast. The only things I can think of doing is to pull in more space to that partition from available free space left over in the raid array, try and defrag it, or give in and wait for the new servers to be installed - which would have happened if it wasn't for a silly n00b leaving their PC on and their office locked last weekend.

    Cheers in advance all!

    you are quite fecked

you need to try and run a full backup of the information store so that it commits the transaction logs.

then you need to run an offline defrag of the information store to reduce it size before mounting it again.

its going to take you a long time

Is there any other drive with some space?

Use Partion Magic (from DOS) and then re-size the Partion table
