    Firefox conflict with NOD32?

My installation of Firefox has now become invisible, by which I mean that when I start it up I get some hard drive activity and an hourglass as normal, then nothing. Task Manager then tells me that firefox.exe is running, but it cannot be switched to in Task Manager, cannot be Alt-Tab'ed to, and does not appear in the start bar. A web browser that runs invisibly in the background is not much fun

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox without fixing the problem. I have Windows XP Home. The only thing I could think might be causing the problem is that I have recently switched to NOD32, but TBH everything worked fine for a couple of days after that.

Please help! IE is rubbish, no tabs or extensions...any idea what might be wrong

Move the Mozilla folder from C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data to a temporary location, then try restarting/reinstalling Firefox. Just sounds like something's corrupt, and uninstalling Fx doesn't remove the profile as far as I'm aware.

That folder always get snarled up. I tell people to move it about 4 times a day in a software help chatroom
