Creating a website, what language/CMS to use?

    All,
I am about to start work on a website for my girlfriend. Having built a few in the past (experience with asp, html, css, asp.net, javascript, php, joomlo, php nuke etc), I wondered whether anyone had any recommendations for a new style to work on?

I have seen the CSS Zengarden website and fancied giving that a go - does anyone know whether this is still viable, or is it now out of date?

Any other recommendations for languages/CMSs would be gratefully recieved.

    Thanks,
    Leon

Well she's an artist and would like to display examples of her art as well as providing information for people to contact her and arrange commisions.

    Cheers for the reply.

i was absolutely horriefied when talking to our recruitment person that he just placed an ASP.Net developer on £25k + bonus. This is with no commercial experiance. So i'd recomend using that if you want to work in the finacial services sector, get some webservers in there too (currency or something) given how easy web stuff is over real programming, and the stupidly high rates, its been making me think!

You gotta go for Joomla with the newest version of gallery installed. Actually on the 12th October they will be releasing the latest versino of Joomla with many improvments.

I just use off-the-shelf stuff nowadays. In fact, I've found WordPress can do a hell of a lot more than you would expect. I generally power any websites I own/maintain with WP seeing as though it can do just about anything you want it. I'm not doubting other CMS's such as Joomla or Mambo though, they're all just as good I presume.
