Vista (RC1) and a few driver problems (mainly for a modem)

Basically I have just resized my XP partition to pave the way for Vista to be installed separetely and in the new partition I have installed the 32 bit version of Vista RC1.

Every one of my devices is detected except for my:
    * ADSL modem - Sagem F@st 800 (provided by Tiscali)
    * Canon 3200F Scanner (doesn't quite matter.)

Without the modem drivers installed I can't activate Vista and more importantly visit Hexus all the time...... so I thought I'd google it. As a result I found a few drivers which installed the device (version 3.4 and 4.00) but when I try and dial up it times out with a error 721, no connection to remote computer. (but the server is accessible when I retry again after rebooting into XP.)

So basically if anyone can point me in the direction of the required drivers, that would be very much appreciated. (Sagem's website was useless!)

Finally I also have one of these:
Compro VideoMate PCI TV PVR/FM (software PVR) with Remote MP3/FM/WAV Record

Which is automatically installed by Vista as a TV Capture device, but when I load up Media Center it says that no TV Tuners were installed...

You need BDA drivers for Media Centre - see if the makers site offers them.

philips saa7130 chip - can't find any generic driver for windows, but try http://www.linuxtv.org/v4lwiki/index...aa713x_devices to see whether any other vendors have a driver which will do the job (all the listed cards' drivers for windows are *technically* compatible, but may be disabled from working for assorted licensing reasons)

(7130 is pretty old, don't be surprised if there are no BDA drivers ever)

Analog Devices Eagle chipset. it's a firmware-loader device, so you'll need to use a driver which provides said firmware - try the sagem driver (http://www.sagem.com/support/site/dr...00_v3_0_4b.zip) or, at a pinch, one of the following devices' driver:

    Comtrend ct 350
    Comtrend ct 361
    US Robotics USR9000 Sureconnect
    TELINDUS ND 220 ARESCOM
    Dlink DSL-200i
    Teledat 300 usb

I did a quick search on google for all of these and mainly all that was returned was the linux eagle-usb drivers. I found a few windows based drivers but they tried out to be not supported under windows vista so I couldn't go ahead.

I tried the sagem drivers again but when it starts installing the drivers after the deivce is found - it nows returns an error of "The system cannot find the file specified" even if I change the path to that of the v4 drivers (whch previously worked - but wouldn't connect!)

I then remembered that you could right hand click on most inf files and select the install option there, but unfortunalety another error is returned - "The inf file you selected does not support this method of installation."

    Any further ideas?

    Super BUMP!

Thought I'd post my findings here as users from another forums have got in contact with me about the same problems....

    SOLUTION FOUND!

Vista Compatible Modem Drivers are now available here...
    http://www.sagem.com/support/site/dr...00_v4_0_5a.zip

Connects a hell of a LOT faster than my XP partition (in terms of milliseconds than seconds!)
