Well, yes, it's seriously uncool to have your PC powered by Tesco, but not everyone is flush with money. Cheap (and legal) alternatives to Microsoft Office have got to be welcome.

There's other alternatives, of course. Google "Office", OpenOffice, and (if you've got a Mac) even Apple iWorks are great alternatives, depending on your needs and preferences.
